John Crowley and his family have been profiled in The Wall Street Journal and are the subjects of a book by Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Geeta Anand, "The Cure: How a Father Raised $100 Million-And Bucked the Medical Establishment-In a Quest to Save His Children." The major motion picture, Extraordinary Measures, starring Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford, is inspired by the Crowley family journey.

John F. Crowley is the Chairman, President and CEO of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on the development of novel treatments for human genetic diseases. Crowley's involvement with biotech stems from the 1998 diagnosis of two of his children with Pompe disease-a severe and often fatal neuromuscular disorder. In his drive to find a cure for them, he left his position at Bristol-Myers Squibb and became an entrepreneur as the co-founder, president and CEO of Novazyme Pharmaceuticals, a biotech start-up conducting research on a new experimental treatment for Pompe disease (which he credits as ultimately saving his children's lives.) In 2001, Novazyme merged into Genzyme Corporation and Crowley continued to play a lead role in the development of a drug for Pompe disease as Senior Vice President, Genzyme Therapeutics. John Crowley is the author of a personal memoir: Chasing Miracles: The Crowley Family Journey of Strength, Hope and Joy. He is also a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, assigned to the United States Special Operations Command and is a veteran of the global war on terrorism, with service in Afghanistan. Crowley graduated with a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and earned a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and an M.B.A. from Harvard. He is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. Crowley lives in Princeton, NJ with his wife, Aileen and their three children, John, Megan and Patrick and serves on the board of directors of the National Make A Wish Foundation of America.

P. Sherrill Neff is a founding partner of Quaker Partners, a Philadelphia-based healthcare venture capital and growth equity firm with $700 million in assets under management. Neff is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Venture Capital Association, and was previously Chairman of the Greater Philadelphia Venture Group (now PACT) and former President of the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Association (now PA Biotech). He sits on the boards of directors of the following active Quaker Partners portfolio companies: Cempra, Neuronetics, RainDance Technologies and Regado Biosciences. He was also Quaker BioVentures' board representative to the following portfolio companies: Amicus, Biolex, BioRexis, Medmark and Optherion. Neff is currently a board member of Resource Capital Corporation (NYSE:RSO), a publicly traded real estate investment trust, and is a former member of the following publicly traded corporate boards: Resource America, The Bancorp, Jefferson Bank and Neose Technologies. He is Chairman of the Policy Board of WXPN, the member-supported radio station affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, and was a founding board member of The Biotechnology Institute. He is a former member of the board of Vesper Boat Club and the University City Science Center. Prior to forming Quaker BioVentures in 2002, Neff was President and Chief Operating Officer of Neose Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded life sciences company. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at U.S. Healthcare, Inc., a leading publicly traded managed care company; a Managing Director in the investment banking division of Alex. Brown & Sons; and an attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Neff is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the University of Michigan Law School.
