Workshop Leader:
Max Zahniser, co-founder, The Sustainability NEXUS

Join the Baiada Institute for this Entrepreneurial Skills Workshop and learn from an expert how sustainability - social and environmental - can be integrated into all types of startup and existing businesses and the benefits it will have in the long run.

Max Zahniser is a green building, sustainable development, and integration facilitator and educator. His professional and academic roots lie in a broad background in architecture, including professional practice across most building types, and both business-as-usual and high-performance/low-impact green buildings. On staff at the U.S. Green Building Council, Max served as the LEED® Certification Manager and the LEED® Process & Integration Program Manager, and oversaw the certification of a majority of the first 500 LEED® building certifications, supported technical and process development of nearly every LEED® program, managed USGBC's relationship with Google, Adobe, Autodesk, and others, and provided support to both customer project teams and LEED® technical staff.

Max has been cited/quoted in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, Building Design + Construction, Metropolis, Contract, Environmental Building News, and on NPR. He was a contributing author for a book entitled: The Integrative Design Guide to Green Building - Redefining the Practice of Sustainability. Max started Praxis | Building Solutions, LLC in 2007, and continues his involvement in leading the green building and larger sustainability movements through his support of USGBC, AASHE, B-Lab, as well as building project teams and clients like Humanscale, the Pentagon, GreenWizard, and Con Edison. Max develops and teaches sustainability curriculum through private clients and strategic partners, USGBC LEED Faculty (1 of only about 80 in the world), Drexel University, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Moore College of Art & Design, and others.

Facilitator: Nicole Koedyker is a junior at Drexel University pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with concentrations in international business and economics and is minoring in Sustainable Design in Built Environments. She is the current President of the Drexel University Sierra Student Coalition, a council member of the Drexel Green Sustainability Council, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the Drexel Smart House. She hopes to receive her dual MBA/MPA in Sustainable Management after graduating from Drexel University.
