End Date: 2/25/2016End Time: 5:30 PM

Event Description
Innovations in science and technology combined with shifting social, political, and environmental forces impact contemporary understandings and applications of the notion of sustainability. This conference offers students opportunities to share their research and engage in critical reflection and dialogue on how sustainability is shaping our global context within such diverse disciplines as health, education, science, human rights, medicine, law, media, economics, politics, development and history.

We are pleased to announce Dr. Paul Anastas, Director, Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering, and Teresa and H. John Heinz III Professor in the Practice of Chemistry for the Environment at Yale University, as our keynote speaker. We will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the founding of Dr. Anastas’s Green Chemistry.

There will be six student panels open to undergraduate and graduate students.
· Global Science, Technology, and Society
· Global Health
· Global Media, Culture, and Arts
· Global Justice and Human Rights
· Global Business and Economic Trends
· Global Political and Social Trends

How can you be involved?

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience presenting on an academic panel and to think critically about one of the world’s most demanding themes.

The student conference is free, open to the public and will include breakfast, lunch, and a networking reception with raffle prizes.

If you can’t stay for the whole day, don’t worry! We understand that students have to come and go because of busy schedules.

Please apply online to present on a panel or register to attend the conference. Student abstracts are due Friday, February 5, 2016. http://drexel.edu/oip/news-events/series/student-conference/Sustainability/
