Event Description

Find out how you measure up to some of the star performers of the live animal kingdom! A range of family activities offers opportunities to test your strength against the jaws of an alligator, learn the amazing secrets of a common egg, and marvel at the acrobatics of birds on the wing.

Meet some of the quirky residents of the Academy in this live animal show. Discover some of the weird and wonderful things they (and their wild cousins) do to survive.

Dinosaurs 101
1 p.m.
Do you know what makes a dinosaur a dinosaur? Can you tell a fossil from a fake? Put your skills to the test during this interactive stage show, and meet a live animal that has some things in common with the extinct stars of the show.

Amazing Adaptations

Running With Dinosaurs
Was T. rex a sprinter? Could you outlast a hadrosaur in a marathon? Take a look at muscles and bone to figure out the answers.

First Level

Are You Stronger Than an Owl?
Take on the champions of the animal kingdom. Test your grip against an owl and see if you can carry as much as a cockroach.

Dinosaurs Unearthed
Real science comes to life through roaring, thrashing, life-size animatronic dinosaurs and awe-inspiring stories of prehistoric Earth. The exhibit also features full-size Jurassic Period dinosaur skeletons, real fossils and fossil casts, hands-on activities, and the latest stories about dinosaur behavior and appearance.

Make your own motion-powered optical illusion. We’ll provide the toy and you provide the motion!

Third Level

Flap, Flutter, and Fly
Birds, bats, and bugs … oh my! Take a closer look at how animals take flight and design your own flier to test.
