Please join the Urban Health Collaborative for a talk on Greening, Equity and Health presented by Isabelle Anguelovski, PhD. Dr. Anguelovski's talk "Are green cities healthy and equitable? The challenges and trade-offs of greening cities for all," will examine the social and racial impact of building greener and healthier cities and discuss the extent to which the benefits of green interventions can be universal without reproducing or exacerbating existing socio-spatial and health inequities.

Isabelle Anguelovski is a social scientist trained in urban studies and planning (PhD MIT, 2011), non-profit management (Harvard University, 2004), international development (Université de Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne, 2001), and political studies (Science Po, 2000). Her research is situated at the intersection between urban planning and policy, social inequality, and development studies. She is an ICREA Research Professor at the Institute for Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) and at the Medical Research Institute, Hospital del Mar (IMIM) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) where she coordinates the research lines Cities and Environmental Justice and Healthy Cities and Environmental Justice, and co-directs the Barcelona Lab for Urban Environmental Justice and Sustainability. Since June 2016, Isabelle is also coordinating the EU (ERC-funded) project GREENLULUS (2016-2021), which examines the social and racial impact of urban greening in 40 cities in Europe, Canada, and the United States.
