Event Description
The next CASTLE Pedagogical Happy Hour will take place on February 22nd from 5:30-7:00 and feature Monica Ilies, PhD, discussing "Evidence-Based Teaching Methods to Promote STEM Active Learning". Monica will talk about a variety of evidence-based pedagogical strategies that she uses in her general, organic and medicinal chemistry classes, with a focus on the "study-buddy" system as a tool to promote and evaluate metacognitive skills.

Pedagogical Happy Hour:
The CASTLE Pedagogical Happy Hour is a monthly program hosted by the Center for the Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning Excellence (CASTLE) and sponsored by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI). The is a new program aimed to provide Drexel faculty with an opportunity to discuss effective teaching practices in their classrooms or laboratories.
The event offers a casual environment for faculty, staff, and graduate students who have taken PROFESS GRAD/EDUC 511 to share ideas about STEM teaching and learning; while enjoying refreshments and fine cheese.
