The College of Arts and Sciences will offer 10 research fellowships for the summer of 2017. All faculty members interested in serving as an adviser for a Humanities and Social Sciences Fellow should complete the online questionnaire by February 18, providing a brief description of the research a student would do with them during the summer.
The program, intended for undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring or minoring in the humanities and social sciences — Departments of Anthropology, Communication, Criminology and Justice Studies, English and Philosophy, Global Studies and Modern Languages, History, Politics, Psychology and Sociology — is designed to increase interest in research. The Humanities and Social Sciences Fellows are expected to work on a scholarly/research project with a faculty member for a minimum of 20 hours a week for 10 weeks. The descriptions submitted by faculty will be given to students as the basis of their application to the CoAS Humanities and Social Sciences Fellows Program. Students will be asked to indicate up to three faculty members with whom they would like to work, and to explain why for each project/faculty member selected. However, each student will be assigned to only one project.
