Event Description
Speaker: Dr. Luis Nunes Amaral, Northwestern University

Abstract:  Dr. Nunes Amaral will enumerate some of the reasons why complex systems pose so many challenges to reductionist approaches. He will briefly describe some of the concepts and techniques that have proven useful to the study of complex systems. Finally, he will discuss some applications in ecology, biology, and medicine.
