Event Description Join the School of Public Health for our Annual Dr. Eli Abrutyn Memorial Lecture featuring a renowned expert on influenza, Dr. Frederick Hayden.
Title: "Influenza, SARS, and Global Health Security"
Dr. Hayden is Stuart S. Richardson Professor of Clinical Virology and Professor of Medicine and Pathology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. During 2006-2008 he served as a medical officer in the Global Influenza Programme at the World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland. His principal research interests have been on the respiratory viral infections with a particular focus on the development and application of antiviral agents for influenza and rhinovirus infections, and is a highly regarded leading expert in this field.
