About Match Day

Happy tears, sad tears, bouts of laughter, shouts of joy, a few disappointed sighs,champagne bubbles and excitement will fill the airwhen fourth-year students at Drexel University College of Medicinefinally discover their residency match.

Match Day is the day medical students find out where they will begin their residency programs. With emotions running high, a champagne toast will celebrate the students’ hard work before they eagerly rip open their envelopes to learn where they will begin their careers as physicians. 

235 medical students will attend, along with their family, friends and faculty. Drexel University College of Medicine Dean Daniel Schidlow, MD, will deliver the toast.

11:45 a.m. – Envelope distribution
11:55 a.m. – Traditional champagne toast
Noon – Envelope opening
