Event Description
Join the Academy of Natural Sciences and Natural Lands Trust for an evening lecture and book signing featuring Rick Darke and Doug Tallamy, authors of the best-selling book The Living Landscape: Designing for Beauty and Biodiversity in the Home Garden.
Explore the layers of the landscape and what role the plants within them play in the larger environment, from providing berries for birds and food for bugs, to offering a place for bees to pollinate. The authors then put this information in context and offer design strategies to implement in a home garden.
Rick Darke, President of Rick Darke LLC, is a widely published author, photographer, lecturer, and consultant focused on regional landscape design, planning, conservation, and enhancement.
Doug Tallamy, a Natural Lands Trust Trustee, is professor and chair of entomology and wildlife ecology at the University of Delaware.
