Event Description Citizens and urban planners unite in "Urban Strategy in the Present Tense," a year-long speaker series dedicated to the local roots of civic innovation. From reinventing playgrounds, civic design, pedestrian mobility, fair housing, and green urban planning, this series brings together local public, private, and community leaders to discuss strategies for building a stronger, more just, and resilient city.
We ask: What does Philly need to ensure its climate resilience and sustainability?
Join us as we dive into the critical challenges our city's urban landscape faces and seek answers to what it takes for Philadelphia to thrive sustainably. Our conversation will center on bolstering resilience in the Philadelphia region. Discover opportunities and strategies and engage with experts to help shape our city's greener and more sustainable future. We'll be joined by Abby Sullivan, the Acting Chief Resilience Officer in the Philadelphia Office of Sustainability and Franco Montalto, Drexel Professor of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering. The series is produced by the Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation at Drexel University in partnership with the Urban Strategy Masters Program in Drexel's Westphal College of Media, Arts & Design. Andrew Zitcer hosts the webinar and Thomas Devaney produces the series with production director Hazel Dequito.
