Event Description Heritage/history month and other celebrations provide a forum where we can learn about less spoken histories and add a different perspective to the retelling of our past. Each celebration can incorporate film, cultural celebrations, and speakers to engage our local community in a much needed conversation on the existing realities of particular communities in the U.S. and internationally.
LGBT History Month celebrated in October is a time when we as a Drexel community commemorate the history and achievements of the LGBTQIA+ community. We learn about unspoken histories and add a different perspective to the retelling of the past. The month incorporates celebrations and speakers to engage the Drexel community in a conversation on the existing realities of this community in the U.S. and internationally. We encourage you to attend one or more of the events at Drexel noted below throughout the month. The month was selected to better incorporate existing celebrations such as National Coming out Day (October 11).
