Event Description
Are you a PhD student or post-doc interested in transitioning into a career in industry? Do you want a career that leverages your quantitative experience in a fast-growing and in-demand field?

Insight has helped over 800 Fellows transition to careers in data science and data engineering.

In this seminar, Emily Halket will discuss her transition from a career in research to becoming a Data Scientist and Program Director at the Insight Data Science Fellowship program, where she helps PhDs and postdocs in quantitative fields make the transition themselves. She will also give a high-level overview of the work data teams are doing and industry-wide trends, as well as the tools and skills that top data-driven companies are looking for when hiring data scientists and engineers. The session will include time for Q&A, as well as advice for those interested in transitioning to careers based on Insight's experience working with 800+ alumni.
