Cytometric Data Analysis and App Contest

Abstract:
Dr. John Quinn, application scientist at FlowJo, LLC, a software company that designs the leading analysis software for single cell data, will discuss what cytometry and RNA sequencing are, their role in health care, and the challenges faced in analyzing these data sets. He will also introduce a contest in which the attendees can contribute to this field (see attached PDF for more contest info).

Biosketch:
John Quinn, PhD, received his doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University in 2006. Since then, he has been with FlowJo, LLC, where he is currently an application scientist. His specialty interest is algorithmic data analysis. Dr. Quinn's current work involves developing the means to analyze large sets of cellular measures predominantly produced through flow cytometry, but now expanding into RNA sequence data.
