Event Description
Join us on Friday, March 3rd at 7:00pm for a 125th Drexel Keynote Address, “Looking Forward: West Philadelphia and University City after University-Driven Change,” by Professor Harley Etienne from University of Michigan. This event is a part of the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery of Drexel’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design’s two day symposium. Noted speakers will discuss the university’s urban setting and Anthony J. Drexel’s decision to locate his Institute of Art, Science and Industry within a district where rail yards, factories and warehouses sat side-by-side with the neighboring family row houses of Powelton and Mantua. The symposium complements the current exhibition at the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery: 125 Years: Drexel and the City curated by Art & Art History chair Elizabeth Milroy. The event is open and free to the public. Please RSVP at https://drexelat125.eventbrite.com
