Event Description The Judaic Studies Program presents a lecture by Dr. Ely Levine, Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, University of Pennsylvania and Villanova Center for Liberal Education, Villanova University.
Economic activity is an aspect of our lives that we often take for granted, but major issues around the world show us how important it is for society as a whole. With regard to ancient Israel’s economics, we have two sources - the Bible and archaeology - which often do not agree. Instead of choosing one over the other, we will see how the two can be understood together through a critical examination of both types of evidence.
Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Support for this event comes from the Louis and Bessie Stein Foundation, The Milton and Miriam Handler Foundation, and the Friends of Judaic Studies. For information: Kathy.carll@drexel.edu, 215-895-6388, www.drexel.edu/judaicstudies. |
