Event Description Allan Schwartz, MD, will discuss the intersection of history, politics and medicine, focusing on FDR's illnesses: polio, malignant hypertension, stroke and heart failure. How did these illnesses affect world politics at the end of World War II? Did they alter negotiations at Yalta? Who were FDR's doctors, and what was their role at the Yalta Conference? And how much of FDR's medical history was kept secret, even from Truman?
