Title: Statistical Modeling for High Dimensional Structured Data with Application to Neuroimaging
Speaker: Fengqing (Zoe) Zhang, PhD
Department: Psychology

Neuroimaging, which enables researchers to obtain a three-dimensional picture of brain structure and activity, has become an important tool in understanding normal brain function, as well as in diagnosing and treating brain disease or injury. Massive neuroimaging data presents opportunities for new discoveries as well as unique computational and statistical challenges.

The goal of this work is to develop novel statistical methodology and extract new meaningful information from neuroimaging data, while coping with the many analytical challenges posed by these massive data sets. In this talk, several examples on statistical modeling with application to brain decoding and multiple sclerosis lesion detection will be discussed.

The College of Arts and Sciences' Dean's Seminars are free and open to the Drexel community. Light refreshments will be served.
