Philadelphia Public Health Employer Fair

Event Description

A select group of Philadelphia public health employers will be on-site to share information on their organizations, missions, and work. Employers will discuss job openings and review the skills and preparation required for employment at their particular organization.  The purpose of the event is to provide public health students with an awareness of potential employers in the Philadelphia area. This event helps organizations meet potential employees and learn about the knowledge and skills these students possess.


All public health students (undergraduate and graduate) from any university are welcome to attend. RSVP here.

1:00 PM - Presentation by Human Resource Generalist for Public Health Management Corporation
1:30 PM - Presentation by a Program Manager for Philadelphia Department of Public Health/ Division of Disease Control
2:00 PM - Presentation by President of National Board of Public Health Examiners on the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential
*Employers will also have an information table in the lobby from 12-2PM. Students should use this time to meet with the employer and ask questions.

Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of families in the developing world through the implementation of innovative and self-sustainable health improvement programs. With a team of 60+ individuals and several thousand volunteers, FIMRC manages project sites in seven different countries across the globe. Job opportunities include project management, community education, and site coordination.

Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) is a nonprofit public health institute that builds healthier communities through partnerships with government, foundations, businesses and community-based organizations. With nearly 1500 employees, 250 programs, eleven subsidiaries --one with programs throughout Pennsylvania, and another nationwide-- 70 sites and close to 200,000 clients served annually, PHMC has become one of the largest and most comprehensive public health organizations in the nation.

Pennsylvania Department of Health's mission is to promote healthy lifestyles, prevent injury and disease, and to assure the safe delivery of quality health care for all Commonwealth citizens. Job opportunities include positions such as Epidemiology Research Associate, statisticians, public health nutrition consultant, and public health program administrators and program manager (opens May 2015).

Philadelphia Department of Public Health will be represented by the Division of Disease Control. They work to prevent, control and report on diseases and conditions that are contagious and/or affect the public’s health. They also help people to prepare for public health emergencies, and educate the community about how to stay safe and healthy.
