Event Description Join us to celebrate the official opening of the World Fusion Fest week. The keynote speaker is April White, the author of Latin Evolution, the debut cookbook of Iron Chef Jose Garces, the Philadelphia Chef’s Table cookbook, and the former food editor for Philadelphia magazine. “Food can define us. The food we grew up with ties us to a particular place and time, to a particular culture and family. But food can also unite us. Throughout the centuries, around the world, sharing a meal has been an act of goodwill, and every bite is an opportunity to start a conversation. When we talk about food we are talking about far more than what’s on the plate. We’re talking about history and tradition, community and values, politics and economics, health and science. We’re talking about life.”
