Devamrita Swami is a monk for over 40 years, a Yale graduate and author of several books. He looks forward to sharing his wisdom and insight with students and anyone looking to learn and access higher knowledge. His cutting edge presentations capture a variety of current pressing themes, from student life, mental stress, ecological sustainability, yoga and meditation, karma, desire management and spiritual economics with students and anyone.

About the topic: It is easily observable that love, in every person’s life, is a necessity. People are happiest when in the midst of loving, kind, reciprocating company. Though society puts independence on the pedestal, there is a deeper force that drives us to long to be dependent upon and depended upon by someone else in a loving, trusting manner. Knowing connection to be an unfulfilled essentiality, constantly deferred and delayed due to busy schedules or mental/emotional/physical mishaps, we develop a deep sense of insecurity, thinking “Does he even miss me?” or “Why hasn’t she called?” or “Do they even love me?”
We are hungry for wholesomeness, and yearn to be in a perfect relationship, but barely know what that means and where that stems from.
Where can we confidently plant our sacred seeds of love and trust? How can they healthily grow? How can we gain a firm conviction in true love and drop our weakening inhibitions towards it? |
