Martha Montgomery Award - Open Call for Student Essays
Start Date: 4/1/2016
End Date: 4/1/2016

Event Description
The Women's and Gender Studies program is pleased to officially announce the undergraduate student call for papers for the 2016 Martha Montgomery Award. The Martha Montgomery Award recognizes an outstanding essay written on a women's and gender studies topic in any CoAS course during the past year (spring 2015 - winter 2016). Current students and recent graduates who wrote a paper on an issue related to women's and gender studies should consider nominating themselves for this award by submitting their paper for consideration.

This competition is open to all WGST and WGST cross-listed courses, as well as courses taught throughout the College of Arts and Sciences. Students may be from any of Drexel's colleges and do not have to be a WGST minor to qualify. The Martha Montgomery Award is a wonderful way to gain recognition and visibility from the larger Drexel University community for high quality, undergraduate scholarship in women’s and gender studies. This award also includes a prize of $200 applied directly to a student’s account.

Submissions are due via email (jkk55@drexel.edu) by April 1 at 4 p.m.

Please send submissions to Jessica Kratzer, Department Administrator for the Women’s and Gender Studies Program- jkk55@drexel.edu. All essays will be considered (there are no page/word count requirements). Papers will be judged by Women's and Gender Studies faculty members. Contact Jessica if you have any questions.
