Event Description All students are invited to join The Book Club for a discussion of Tokyo Ueno Station, written by Korean-Japanese author Yu Miri and translated by Morgan Giles. The 2014 novel, a National Book Award Winner, is about the surreal, devastating story of a homeless ghost named Kazu who haunts one of Tokyo's busiest train stations. Kazu's unusual narrative is a fresh, subtly political take on class and memory, family and trauma. It's all about the importance of and unending search for human connection.
The Book Club, hosted by the Drexel Department of English and Philosophy, is open to any student regardless of major. Please contact Prof. Sheila Sandapen for more information, sfs@drexel.edu |
