Event Description Education in America: The Decline of Youth Access to Higher Education Thursday, April 11th, from 7:30pm-9:00pm MacAlister Hall Room 2020 This program will center on the disparities in education across America. This program intends to use real-life stories from students attending K-12 schools around Drexel University. Part of the workshop will involve having attendants write meaningful letters to students in these schools, encouraging them to continue their education and move on to college.
This program is a part of Social Justice Week 2013. The Student Center for Inclusion and Culture, The Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, Hillel, and the Residential Living Office are happy to sponsor a week full of educational presentations that will help our community advance in the pursuit of social justice.
As a reward for those students committed to learning about Social Justice issues and in order to continue your education, we are offering a free trip to the Jewish American History Museum in Philadelphia on Sunday, April 21st at 11 am. In order to be considered for the trip, students have to attend a minimum of 3 Social Justice Week events. A sign-up sheet will be available at each event so please make sure to sign up each time you attend.
