The Arfaa Lecture Series: Roger Duffy: "Architecture in the Age of Collaboration"

Event Description

Roger Duffy, a Design Partner in the New York office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), has led a diverse range of award-winning urban projects worldwide: academic and museum institutions, transportation hubs, residential, hospitality, and office projects.

Mr. Duffy’s design process is characterized by experimentation, collaboration with both the client and design team and is known for his treatment of natural light, innovation and sustainability. A few of his more recent accomplishments are: the launching of Journal SOM; Cornell Tech Master Plan’s treatment of reclaimed space on Roosevelt Island; the University Center for the New School in NYC; the Park Hotel in Hyderabad, India; Denver Union Station; and the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Terminal 2 in Mumbai, India.

Mr. Duffy received a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon. He has served on the board of the Buell Center at Columbia and has lectured and  taught at many institutions including: Columbia, Harvard, the Netherlands Architectural Institute, the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, and the University of Pennsylvania.
