Our IS department alone, houses about 1/3 of the company's employees (around 250) and we continue to grow! We often have great opportunities that are available, where managers seek out technical backgrounds and are willing to train healthcare skills. So having both is NOT required, but having a desire to be in the healthcare industry would help.
