Advances in Research and Clinical Practice in Tick-Borne Disease
Conference Description and Goals
- Discuss innovations and current research on history, vectors and pathophysiology of tick-borne diseases
- Discuss prevalence and recognition of tick-borne diseases
- Present and analyze impact of tick-borne disease on patients
- Present, discuss and analyze diagnosis, including differential, of tickborne disease patients, including case study presentations
- Present and discuss pharmacological treatment and management approaches of tick-borne disease patients, including cases study presentations
- Present non-pharmacologic intervention to manage symptoms and prevent functional decline in patients with complex tick-borne disease
Speakers
The event includes 12 presenters from various disciplines within the field of tick-borne diseases, including moderator Steven J. Bock, MD; Robert Mozayeni, MD, president,
International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society; and Drexel graduate student Kayla Socarras, MS, Microbiology & Immunology program and member of Drexel's Center for Advanced Microbial Processing, who will speak about Drexel's work on global tick microbiome analysis.
Two keynote talks will be given.
