Drexel University Online in conjunction with the Online Learning Council will offer the introductory Quality Matters workshop – Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR). Quality Matters (www.qualitymatters.org) is a nationally recognized non-profit organization that promotes quality assurance in online course design. The University supports faculty in becoming familiar with best practices in quality online course design, which this workshop is designed to teach. These best practices are associated with increasing student retention and faculty satisfaction with online teaching and have become increasingly important to accreditation bodies.
Dr. Linda Marion & Dr. Karen Holt, Online Learning Council Faculty Fellows and certified QM Online Facilitators, will conduct the two-week workshop sessions each term throughout the year. The workshop, open to any faculty members, doctoral students, and staff supporting online education, is fully online and asynchronous. The maximum capacity of each workshop is 20 people. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.
The course dates are the following:
January 23 - February 6
April 17-May 1
Participants can expect to spend about 10-11 hours per week in the workshop to successfully complete it.
*Please note if you register for a workshop but cancel once it has started, Drexel University Online will still be charged for your registration. As such, if you wish to register for the workshop again, you will need to pay your own registration.
