Title: Policing Unhealthy Places: A New Paradigm for Facilitating Urban Health

Speaker: Dr. Robert Kane, professor and director of criminal justice

Statistics show that people living in disadvantaged communities often don’t seek out primary care. Dr. Robert Kane will explore why these populations aren’t getting the medical attention they need, and how police can be recruited to serve as public health monitors and facilitators, spreading important health literacy information across communities in which health myths and distrust are rampant.

This event is free and open to the Drexel community. Light refreshments will be served.
