Brown Bag Lunch Seminar: Personal Perspectives on Your Personal Statement
Start Date: 4/6/2016Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 4/6/2016End Time: 1:00 PM

Event Description

This session will be videoconferenced to the Vice Dean's Conference Room, Queen Lane Campus.

Beverages and cookies will be provided at New College Building.

Presented by

Sarah S. Long, MD, professor of pediatrics; chief, Section of Infectious Diseases, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children

Educational Goals
The discussion is intended to provide practical points on how to — and how not to — craft a personal statement for the purpose of gaining a fellowship position, a promotion or even a residency position. We will critique paragraphs that work and paragraphs that do not work, asking the question, “Would I want to hire (or promote) this person?” You can expect to come away with a rough template for yourself to write a successful, and not too stressful, personal statement.

Target Audience
Residents, junior faculty and medical students.
