Running Your Business So You Can Leave It In Style
A Seminar In Entrepreneurial Excellence

May 1, 2013

Laurence A. Baiada Institute for Entrepreneurship
3225 Arch Street, Ground Floor
Drexel University’s Main Campus

As the founder or controlling owner of a business you will someday leave. The extent to which you do so successfully and on your own terms depends on how well you have planned for that day. Comprehensive planning is multi-faceted and takes time to implement. The sooner one begins, the more options there will be available. This Seminar in Entrepreneurial Excellence will provide a systematic approach to creating your own personal map to reach the destination of your choosing.

Join us to learn the answers to these and other questions regarding succession and exit planning.

• What are the three questions every owner must answer to begin planning?
• Is an independent valuation really that important?
• Is it better to gift or sell to family members?
• How long does planning and execution take?
• Should the business be sold to an outsider?

Jonathan S. Corle (Jon) graduated from the LeBow College of Business in 1970. He is the chairman of Tycor Benefit Administrators, Inc., a family owned firm that he founded over thirty years ago. Tycor, along with its affiliated registered investment advisory firm, Tycor Asset Management, Inc., provides a full range of employee benefit and retirement plan services to closely held businesses and financial planning for their owners, executives and other affluent individuals. Jon is also the principal of Corle Enterprises, LLC, a consulting firm where he uses his knowledge, experience and resources to help founders of family firms envision successful futures for themselves and their businesses.

Under Jon’s leadership, Tycor grew into a highly respected and successful boutique financial services firm. In 2010 Jon completed the transfer of his day-to-day responsibilities to his son, Tim, and daughter, Lauren. Together they now lead the firm as officers and owners. The successful transition of the firm to the next generation is the crowning achievement of Jon’s career and forms the basis of his work in succession planning for other families and firms.

Jon credits a large portion of his entrepreneurial success to his Drexel experience and he is very active as an alumni. He serves as an elected director of the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association and chairs its honors and awards committee. He is an advisory board member of the Baiada Institute for Entrepreneurship. In addition to his Drexel involvement, Jon is a past president of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and a founding board member of the ASPA Benefits Council of the Delaware Valley.
