The Good Idea Fund, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Africana Studies program present Michelle Alexander on Monday, May 6.


Michelle Alexander is a highly acclaimed civil rights lawyer, advocate, legal scholar, and award-winning author. Her book The New Jim Crow has received rave reviews and has been featured in national radio and television media outlets, including MSNBC, NPR, Bill Moyers Journal, Tavis Smiley, C-SPAN, and Washington Journal, among others.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Please arrive early to be seated. The lecture will take place at 6 p.m. with a book signing and reception to follow.
