Event Description The final production of this season’s Co-op Theatre productions offers an irreverent and zany play featuring the plight of three young Mississippi sisters for an evening of fun! Crimes of the Heart opens at Drexel’s URBN Center Annex Black Box Theater (3401 Filbert St.) on May 9 at 8 p.m. with additional performances on May 10, 15, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. and May 11 at 2 p.m.
Written by Beth Henley and directed by Theatre Department Chair, Nick Anselmo, Crimes of the Heart is a funny, warm-hearted story of three sisters’ attempts to escape the past in order to seize the future. Three unique characters include Lenny, unmarried at thirty and facing diminishing prospects; Meg, who returns to Mississippi after a failing to become a singing star in Los Angeles; and Babe, out on bail after having shot her husband in the stomach.
Tickets for Crimes of the Heart are $15 General Admission and $10 for Drexel students, faculty and staff with a valid ID. Online tickets can be purchased in advance at the Drexel Co-op Theater website, www.drexelplayers.com. |
