Event Description
We invite the 2016 Velay Fellows and newly selected 2017 Velay Fellows to join us for a welcome reception at the ExCITe Center during the Week of Undergraduate Excellence. The new cohort will have an opportunity to begin to get to know each other, as well the women from the previous cohort and the staff and faculty involved in the Velay program. **Please note: This event is invitation only.**
The Velay Fellows is a segment of the STAR Scholars Program dedicated to supporting women in STEM with aspirations to participate in research and attend graduate school and is funded by the Panaphil and Uphill Foundations. Women in the Velay Fellows program participate in full-time research and other offerings through the STAR Scholars Program, while also participating in cohort-building activities, such as mentor lunches with women in STEM and a book club. Our hope with the Velay Fellows is to strengthen the community of women researchers in STEM here at Drexel.
