Dean's Seminar: Education Evolution: Transforming STEM Teaching and Learning
Start Date: 5/10/2017Start Time: 3:30 PM
End Date: 5/10/2017End Time: 5:00 PM

Event Description
Jennifer Stanford, PhD, assistant professor of biology

Discovery, innovation and progress in STEM fields requires a diverse, educated and motivated workforce. Unfortunately, the STEM pipeline is leaky, leading to loss of individuals capable of contributing significantly to the STEM workforce and solving problems using STEM expertise. Change in how we teach STEM topics is known to be required to improve the STEM pipeline. Jennifer Stanford, PhD, will discuss the funded portfolio of sponsored projects that she manages — from HHMI, NSF, The Panaphil and Uphill Foundations and The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations — to promote change in STEM education, project outcomes, and the development of the Center for the Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning Excellence.

The College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Seminars are free and open to the Drexel community. Light refreshments will be served.
