End Date: 5/17/2012End Time: 10:30 AM

Event Description
The Office of the Provost with the Drexel Center for Academic Excellence invites all Drexel faculty to attend one, or all, of four sessions on best practices in Teaching and Learning, May 17-18, 2012, featuring Dr. Todd Zakrajsek, Executive Director of the International Teaching Learning Cooperative and immediate past Executive Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Please note that seating is limited, and interested faculty members are requested to complete our online RSVP form (on the DCAE website: drexel.edu/dcae) by Tuesday, May 15.

This interactive plenary session is designed to give attendees evidence about how students learn, show methods to get students involved, and demonstrate relevant applications from pedagogical research. Research from cognitive, social, and physiological psychology is rich with ideas to augment student learning through effective teaching. Attendees will also have the opportunity to try out some classroom activities designed to increase student engagement.
