The Drexel LGBTQA+ Faculty & Professional Staff Network, the Office of Faculty Development & Equity (FDE), the Office of Equality and Diversity (OED), and the Drexel Foundation of Undergraduates for Sexual Equality (FUSE) invite you to attend a screening of the film Gay Pioneers, followed by a discussion with Malcolm Lazin, Executive Director of the Equality Forum, on what has been accomplished to date, and what still needs to be done in the effort to secure LGBT civil rights.

Gay Pioneers is the story of the first organized annual “homosexual” civil rights demonstrations, which were held at Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell each July 4th from 1965 to 1969. Malcolm Lazin is Executive Director of the Equality Forum, a national and international LGBT civil rights organization with an educational focus. Lazin is also the Executive Producer of Gay Pioneers, as well as JIM IN BOLD and Saint of 9/11.
