Free Community Day: Go 4th and Learn about Science and Wawa Dairy

Event Description

Wander among towering dinosaur skeletons, meet live animals, or discover an indoor tropical butterfly garden during a free day sponsored by Wawa. Check out the hands-on Wawa Dairy exhibit with a cow-milking model. You will receive free admission to all Academy exhibits, including Birds of Paradise. The first 200 kids will receive a free book!

We will have a variety of activities throughout the museum:

Bird Migration: Check out specimens from the Academy's Ornithology Collection, including Canada geese like Wally, Wawa's mascot. (Serengeti Classroom)

Milk Experiment Station: See milk in a whole new light. (Bird Classroom)

Egg Experiment Station: Discover amazing facts about eggs. (Bird Classroom)

Feathers: Take a closer look at different types of feathers. (Science Live)

Crafts: Make a feather head dress to take home. (Panda Lobby)

Wawa Dairy Exhibit: Try out this hands-on exhibit with cow-milking model. (Bird Classroom)

Go 4th and Learn Story Time: Hear a story read by Mayor Michael Nutter or other special guests. (Library)

Live Animal Shows: Meet some of the Academy's live animal ambassadors in these 30-minute shows at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (Auditorium)
