Drexel University Link 197 of The Order of the Engineer will hold its annual induction ceremony on Thursday, June 11th at 6pm. All graduating engineering students from all engineering departments (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, and practicing engineers are invited to join.

The speaker this year will be Administrative Angela T. Jones, Administrative Law Judge. Judge Jones presides at the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, which regulates gas, electric, energy, rail, telecommunications, transportation, water, and wastewater utilities that operate in Pennsylvania. Inductees and their guests are invited to a reception following the ceremony.

The Order of the Engineer members must be licensed engineers and/or graduates (this includes seniors about to graduate) from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum.

If you wish to participate, please fill out the attached application and turn it in with a check made out to Drexel University Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department in the amount of $11.00 to Sarah Colins in Curtis 251 before May 20th.

The Order of the Engineer is a solemn obligation to uphold the standards and the dignity of the engineering profession. It is an obligation to turn to practical use the principles of science and the means of technology...to serve humanity by making the best use of earth's precious wealth. The purpose is to stimulate formal public recognition by engineers in the United States of two basic principles. These principles are that (1) the primary purpose of engineering is service to the public, and (2) all members of the engineering profession share a common bond. Those that have taken the pledge are identified by a stainless steel ring worn on the 5th finger of their working hand.

This event is supported by the College of Engineering and the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department.
