Event Description
The Center for Hospitality and Sport Management’s Beverage Studies Initiative will be offering the course, Fundamentals of Mixology, during the summer term. The course will focus on the fundamentals of preparing and serving classic and craft cocktails. Students will explore the history, processes and uses of major spirits. Emphasis will be on the foundations of creating a bar program, costing out recipes and proper service guidelines. The course will be taught by Keith Raimondi, beverage director at Townsend. The course, open to current Drexel students (must be 21 years of age), will also have a limited number of seats available to the general public as non-credit continuing professional education.
Fundamentals of Mixology is the latest course being offered through the Beverage Studies Initiative. Additional courses will be offered in wine, beer, food and beverage pairings, equipment operations and communications and sales.
The ten week course will be offered on Mondays from 6 pm to 9 pm beginning on June 22 and will be held in the Academic Bistro’s Lounge. The cost of the course will be $595.
