End Date: 6/5/2017End Time: 1:00 PM

Event Description
Patrick Gurian, PhD, associate professor, Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at Drexel University will present at this Environmental and Occupational Health Seminar.

Dr. Gurian will present: ‘Effect of an Expert Workshop on Participant Views of Associations between Turbidity of Drinking Water Supplies and Gastrointestinal Illness’.

Over the past two decades, a series of epidemiological studies have found associations between turbidity in drinking water supplies and acute gastrointestinal illness. These studies have been controversial as to their methods employed and their relevance to U.S. drinking water supplies. This seminar will discuss the results of a workshop that brought together subject matter experts in water treatment, risk assessment, and epidemiology to discuss the studies and their implications for drinking water quality in the U.S.
