The Department of Engineering Technology presents an "Advanced Manufacturing Workshop" to be held on Friday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Seminar Room (Rm 004) at One Drexel Plaza, 3001 Market Street.
This workshop will focus on the Department of Engineering Technology’s involvement in advanced manufacturing, state-of-the-art technologies, and current best practices in industry and education.
Workshop summary
The workshop agenda is organized to have presentations from selected experts in industry and academia to address underlying issues, state-of-the-art technologies, and current best practices in industry and education. Attendees can also conduct focused technical discussions and evaluations on emerging technologies and student needs.

Moving U.S. forward with advanced manufacturing
The US Government has set its focus on modern manufacturing that underpins US science strengths and business capabilities. The advanced manufacturing is closely related to the advancement of technologies. Technology makes its way into manufacturers and becomes essential to companies in US. More advanced techniques continue to be developed, in parallel with modern manufacturing. At this full day event, the emerging areas will be discussed. The speakers will showcase the latest techniques, findings, applications and utilization of modern manufacturing into specific sectors. Ramping up of production and technological challenges will be discussed, along with the commercialization and regulatory constraint.
