A satisfying and meaningful life requires us to have a balance of acceptance and change with the entire breadth of our emotions.  The workshop offers an introduction to the various roles emotions can play in our lives. We will explore a variety of mindfulness-based skills to help participants better understand their emotions through body sensation and action urges.  Participants will discover ways of tolerating difficult emotions and we will explore increasing flexibility in a manner consistent with your personal values. If you are interested in better understanding your emotional experience, learning some new mindfulness practices, or having a more effective relationship with your emotions, then please join us in this experiential workshop.

Our speaker, Michael Gotlib, Psy.D. joined Drexel's Counseling Center in August 2016. Dr. Gotlib is the group and workshop coordinator at the Counseling Center and maintains a part-time private practice at the Center for Emotional Health in Cherry Hill, NJ. Dr. Gotlib has extensive training in mindfulness-based treatments from his clinical trainings at Princeton University, the University of Iowa, the Yale Center for Anxiety and Mood Disorders, and the Yale School of Medicine.  Dr. Gotlib also works with non-clinical populations (coaching) to foster psychological flexibility, self-compassion and vital living.
