Course Descriptions:
This presentation will focus on implicit bias, cultural awareness and sensitivity by exploring the

journeys of cultural awareness. Participants will engage in individual reflection, small group
work, and experientials. Participants will explore perceptions, experiences, and feelings related
to race and ethnicity, intersectional identities, stereotypes, power and privilege.

At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
• Recognize the nuanced impact of racial biases, assumptions, and stereotypes on
personal and professional relationships within a systemic context.
• Understand the impact of power, privilege, and intersectional identities in relation to being in service to communities both similar and different from one’s own.
• To identify at least two practical tips and skills for effective communication in light of growing on a path of embracing diversity and expanding cultural awareness.
