Event Description
Drexel University Orchestra ends its 2016/2017 concert season with “American Spring”. Aaron Copland's iconic ballet Appalachian Spring, written for dance giant Martha Graham and her company, was premiered at the Library of Congress in 1944. Samuel Barber’s Adagio became more a part of the public conscience from its use in the gut wrenching movie Platoon. And Drexel University’s pipe organ begins a rebirth-like journey in this first performance of Saint-Saens epic Symphony No. 3, featuring graduating senior Alexander Smith.
