STAR Workshop #1: Contextualizing Your Research
Start Date: 7/9/2015Start Time: 10:30 AM
End Date: 7/9/2015End Time: 12:00 PM

Event Description
This is the first workshop in a series of four workshops offered by the Hagerty Library staff to prepare students to learn and hone research-related skills.

In this first workshop, we will discuss the idea of “context,” explore what a literature review is and how it is related to context. We will also begin mind-mapping to create context and brainstorm topics.

At the end of the workshop, students will be able to:
  • describe a literature review in order to create their own
  • discuss the context of research in order to create a context for their ideas and connect them to other ideas
