Guoliang Yang Memorial Mini-Symposium
Start Date: 2/1/2013Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Date: 2/1/2013End Time: 5:00 PM
Event Description
Drexel University will host a Memorial Mini-Symposium to honor Dr. Guoliang Yang's contributions in the field of atomic-force single molecule spectroscopy.

Guoliang studied the central problem of protein folding and stability, and he developed a novel, temperature-control device for the Atomic Force Microscopy. More recently he was interested in understanding experimentally the effect of crowding in protein properties and in understanding the basic science of the interaction between DNA and proteins in cellular reproduction.

Guoliang will also be remembered as a caring, conscientious, and enthusiastic teacher who taught at all levels of the physics curriculum. His advanced and interdisciplinary courses, which he developed, were well-received by both students and faculty.
