Education Technology in COVID Times: Policy Implications for the Future
Start Date: 7/21/2020Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 7/21/2020End Time: 1:00 PM

Event Description
The COVID-19 crisis has had significant implications for the role of education technology in P-12 and post-secondary education. Whether in the necessary use of virtual learning by public school districts, communication between schools and their stakeholders, or in how workforce development professionals attempting to run virtual apprenticeship programs, observers can see that the future of education will look different from even the recent past.

In this one-hour webinar, Drexel University Education Policy Program Director Bruce Levine, JD and Learning Technology Program Director Dr. Bill Lynch will discuss the policy implications of this increased reliance on education technology—for federal and state government, for the rights of faculty and students, for US infrastructure, and civic education, among other topics.

Topics include:
  • Assessment and accountability
  • Federal and state funding and support for remote learning
  • Instructional time
  • Issue for students learning remotely
