Event Description
Join the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University as we celebrate the Week of the Young Child: Early Years Are Learning Years. Activities will take place in our children’s discovery center, Outside In, from noon–2 p.m. on April 15–19.
The schedule includes story times, crafts, games, music, and much more. The activities are free to the public with museum admission.
April 15 Follow the Tracks Story Time and Scavenger Hunt Join us as we read aloud during our interactive story-time adventure, and then participate in a thrilling scavenger hunt. We will read at 12:15 and 1:15 p.m., and the Scavenger Hunts will take place immediately after story times.
April 16 Flower Power Learn more about plant life cycles and what plants need to survive. Make bean sprout necklaces!
April 17 Buggy for Bugs Meet some of the live invertebrates that live in Outside In, and learn more about these creepy crawly creatures from our staff. Make bug boxes to take home!
April 18 The Sounds of Nature Let’s take a look at instruments from around the world and how their materials come straight from nature. Then join us for music and dancing in Outside In. Make your own Instrument using beans and rice.
April 19 Animal Bingo Join us for animal bingo and win a prize while identifying some of your favorite animals.
